Apart from entertainment, the theatre gives the audience insight into the present condition of their society. The playwright Dermot Bolger writes in the introduction to The Ballymun Trilogy that Irish people came to see his play „The Townlands of Brazil” because they had been fascinated by Polish migrants but hadn’t quite known how to delve into their lives. This part of the Archive shows how theatre lifts the veil of secrecy about the lives of Polish migrants in the British Isles. It is divided into two parts: Plays and Theatre Groups.
