Ewa Winnicka is a Polish journalist. She graduated in American studies and journalism from the University of Warsaw. She has worked for a Polish best-selling weekly Polityka since 1999. She has also contributed to Tygodnik Powszechny, Duży Format and the Italian magazine Internazionale. Her debut book, Londyńczycy (Londoners), was published in Wołowiec in 2011 under the Czarne imprint. It received favourable reviews and was shortlisted for Gryfia Literary Award in 2012. The book has been followed by Nowy Jork zbuntowany (Rebellious New York, 2013), and Angole (Limeys, 2014), a sequel to Londyńczycy (Londoners). Angole and Londyńczycy are collections of reportage stories about Polish immigrants in the UK after the accession of Poland into the EU. Angole was shortlisted for the Gryfia Literary Award in 2014 and Nike Literary Award in 2015. The writer also received Grand Press Award in 2005 and 2008.

She lives and works in Warsaw.
