Anya Lipska is a British writer married to a Pole who arrived in the UK during the Soviet era. Originally trained as a journalist, she works as a scriptwriter and producer of TV documentaries. Her debut novel, Where the Devil Can't Go, set amongst the Polish emigrant community of the East End, was published in London in 2013 by Friday Project. It was translated into Polish and German. The book received favourable reviews and has been followed by the sequel Death Can’t Take a Joke (2014).
