Budacz, Maria

biography

Maria Budacz (born in Limanowa) is a Polish author. She graduated in Russian Studies from the Pedagogical University of Cracow. Her debut novel, Wot. 4, was published in 2012 in Warsaw by Papierowy Motyl. It is based on the author’s and her friends’ experiences and tells the story of Polish migrants in the UK. Maria Budacz writes on the life of Polish migrants for news websites. She took part in filming Forum, a documentary produced by the independent film group Avonhouse, which premiered at the Manchester Off Film Festival (2009) and was later screened during the Zielona Góra Film Festival (2013).

She lives in Manchester and works in the local Department of Education.
