Martynowska, Ada

biography

Ada Martynowska (born in Toruń) is a Polish writer. Her debut novel, Karpie, łabędzie i Big Ben (Carps, Swans and Big Ben), was published in Katowice in 2009 by Sonia Draga. The book, inspired by the post-EU enlargement migration of Polish people to the UK, was reissued under a new title Przebojowa Polka w Londynie (A Go-Getter Pole in London) in 2012.

The author left Poland after graduating from high school and continued her education at King's College in London. Apart from England and Poland, she has lived and worked in Rome, France and Brussels.
